A children’s travel guide to Cumbria
Lake District Unlocked
My first book was a children’s travel guide to Cumbria called Lake District Unlocked. Published in 2010, some of the content is now quite out of date, but it was a lot of fun to write, exploring the area and its attractions with my little boy. The illustrations are pretty fab and there are some awful Dad jokes on every page too
Great book for our family holiday!
This book was great! We took a holiday with our three kids this summer, and we took this book with us. The kids loved it and it meant we were able to structure fun family events into the week which we could all agree we wanted to do. The range of options the book explores is exceptional - it caters for all interests and ages. I really can't recommend it highly enough - if your kids are ages between one and eighteen there'll be something for them (and frankly we enjoyed some of the activities as much as the children!).

Lake District Unlocked
My children read this book ahead of our recent trip to the Lakes. It is a wonderfully engaging read for all ages and really helped us as a family to discover the many attractions which the Lake District has to offer. For the children it provided the adventure they could plan through the use of straightforward yet educational dialogue and stories. Would highly recommend!

A wonderful guide to the Lakes
A fun book; laid out in a very colourful, appealing way. The use of colours and humour makes the book very accessible; a book to dip into and select days out to enjoy.
The book has clearly been well thought through and designed to help people with young families enjoy the Lakes.
